OK.  I’m sending a pic of tonight’s dinner via text, because obviously, I don’t know how to get it to my computer.
So, it was Blue Apron Shrimp/Mushroom Dumplings with bokchoy on the side.
This was really fantastic!
I have decided I really like Bok Choy – very easy to make and tasty.
Spoiler alert….literally.
Making the shrimp/mushroom/garlic/onion stuffing (everything had to be chopped up), took some time and destroyed my kitchen.
However…it was delicious.
The alert is the fact that this particular Blue Apron box was delivered last Friday.  Its Thursday.
So, it would really be a shame if the shrimp had gone bad and I get sick.  It smelled like normal shrimp when I opened the package, so we’ll see.
I still have one more for tomorrow…chicken.  It said to eat within 9 days, so I think I’ll be ok.
If you never hear from me again, you’ll know what happened!
hee hee.
Love,
Mom
Notes: We have heard from her again since. Everyone is still alive and well.

Hi Kids!

This week is finally over.  It was very hectic.
Blue Apron was on my porch – a good thing.
So…it must be winter, which translates to KALE for Blue Apron.  I got 3 meals and kale is in 2 of them.  The 3rd one has too many ingredients to add kale.
I decided this week warranted a glass of wine in my crystal wine glass.  Good decision.
Until I hit the crystal glass with the wine bottle….there goes the crystal wine glass…evidently not made to withstand a beating from a wine bottle.  Who knew?
I decided that this event was not a sign that I should not have wine; rather, I should stop being so clumsy.
New glass….more wine.
The shrimp/kale/pasta creation was rather tasty and I’m thinking hard about another glass of wine.  You just can’t go wrong with Blue Apron pasta.
Oh yeah…yes you can…that potato pasta was all kinds of crap.  Sorry Vietnam.
So…after this week, I am all sorts of ready for Christmas holiday!!!
Love,
Mom
Notes: She’s not wrong. The potato pasta WAS all kinds of crap.

OK.
IF you walk into your house and its been trashed.
DON’T GO IN.
Leave the house, get back in your car and drive to the police station and bring them back.
The bad peeps might still be in your house, so there is no reason to walk in on them.
I just wanted to give you the heads up.
No…this didn’t happen to me.  Its just I keep seeing this on TV.  I’m always yelling at the TV saying “Oh man….don’t go in the house!”.
They don’t listen, but I thought I could at least warn my kids.
Love,
Mom
Notes: Please friends. Don’t walk in that house.

So…there was just a commercial about Lindor Truffles.
I guess there is a reason why I’m not in the 2 hour delivery window with Amazon!
Yes, I would totally just order truffles and I’d wait up for the delivery!  I’m already in my jammies, so going out is not an option.
This chocolate deprivation is tough!
Love,
Mom
Notes: Can you IMAGINE living in a world where, within two hours, you could order chocolates and have them on your doorstep. I’m so interested it’s unreal.

fire (the series)

On Wednesday January 4th I received a five series email about a fire in downtown Seymour. I have decided to paste each one here as a series. You’re welcome.

I know how news spreads….if you hear about buildings on 2nd street downtown Seymour on fire…its 2 buildings across the street…thankfully, not ours.

OK.  I went outside and talked to the fire chief.  We’re on a first name basis because of the previous issues with Phil squatting in the Chatterbox.
The fire is actually from the back of the 2 buildings next to  “This Old Guitar” – however, smoke is billowing out the front windows. 2nd Street is blocked off, they just broke out the windows.
They are bringing their guitars over to put into the old Bevers space.

OK.  The flames are not shooting out the back of the buildings with all the black smoke…I fear for ‘This Old Guitar’.

Update – the red building roof has collapsed and its out of control again.  Helicopters are flying around, so we’ll be on the 11:00 news.
Fire Trucks have come from North Vernon.
The Salvation Army is setting up in Bevers to distribute food, etc.
I just can’t figure out what’s in that red building that just won’t go out….3 hoses continually from 3 angles.
Insurance agent already let us know that we are covered for clean up of smoke damage, etc.
I’m starting to cough.
We turned off the furnace to keep fresh air out since its not so fresh.
We’re all getting a lot done here today.
Oh…the possible tenant is having a meeting next week to decide.

Someone is doing a live facebook feed from our 2nd floor window behind the elevator.  I didn’t know that when I started talking….then he turned the phone around, so I said ‘hi’.
So….if you see someone in that poncho K got me for Christmas on Facebook….its really me.
